Your rights

 It is your right to request access to any of the information that we hold about you. If you require access to this information, or you believe to be incorrect or incomplete, please write to us at the above address. We will respond to your request within 28 days of receiving your letter. In addition, you have the right to request that we do not process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data, or at any time thereafter. 

Why we collect information

 The information we gather helps us fulfil orders for resources. We may also use your details to provide you with information, news and opportunities to get involved with our ministry. 

Electronic communications

 Our policy is to email you only if you have indicated to us that you want electronic communication from us. This is in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communication (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. All our emails will offer you the chance to decline future emails. Please note that on completing an online order, you will receive a single email to confirm it. This in no way counts as consent on your part to further email communications. 

What is a cookie?

 A cookie is a small reference file, which is installed on your hard drive and is used to store preferences. When you visit our website, we use cookies to direct you to your local SGM Lifewords site and to remember your region when you visit again. Cookies do not enable us to access your computer or your information in any way, and pose no risk to your computer or your data. You may disable your browser from accepting cookies. This may require you to select your regional site and language each time you visit. 

Respecting your privacy

 By submitting your personal data, you agree to SGM Lifewords storing or processing that data. SGM Lifewords will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. SGM Lifewords does not sell, rent or pass on any information about you to other organisations. We may need to pass on information when required by law or by a regulatory body (eg. a Gift Aid audit by HMRC). We may provide third parties with overall information about visitors to and users of our site, but this information, other than as explained above, are both aggregate and anonymous. Occasionally, we employ volunteers to carry out tasks on our behalf, such as fulfilling orders or processing donations. These persons are bound by their volunteer contract to protect your privacy just as we would ourselves.
