Praying for Africa

Sammy Kamore from Lifewords in Africa writes: “As we celebrate the joy of knowing Christ, we are called to make ourselves aware of the needs of those around us, both the material and the spiritual. This week, please join us in praying for the work of Christians in Africa as they look to minister to those in their communities.”

  • Children in Christ (CIC), a Christian organization committed to outreach in Kenya, has approached Lifewords about using the Choose Life programme with young people in northern Kenya. This would be the first use in this part of the country, so please pray for the ongoing discussions between our two organisations as we examine this possibility.
  • Lifewords in Africa has been providing Bible resources to supporters in many villages throughout Uganda. Recently a pastor from the village of Nabulon used the booklet Who Cares About Me? in his work with young people. He later wrote to Lifewords to share how hearing the story of God’s care for Jacob had encouraged many children to place their lives in God’s hands. Please join us in giving thanks for this testimony and pray for those using Inspire resources in their work with young people.
  • Later this month, Lifewords staff will be in Uganda for follow-up meetings with workers and teachers involved with both Pavement Project and Choose Life. These meetings will be a great opportunity to garner significant feedback on the programmes, share testimonies and enjoy fellowship. Please join us in praying for God’s blessing on the meetings and for all those working with Transform programmes in Africa.
