Lifewords in Africa

Sammy Kamore, Office Manager for Lifewords in Africa, writes: “We thank God for the opportunities we are seeing to expand the work of our Transform programmes throughout Africa. We hope that doors will continue to be opened to us as we meet with prospective partners in Kenya and Uganda.” This week, join us in praying for the ongoing impact of Pavement Project and Choose Life throughout the region.

  • Give thanks for the conclusion of two successful Choose Life training courses in February and March. In the February course, 28 teachers and workers were trained in the use of the Choose Life curriculum, with the potential to reach up to 1,000 young people between them. Please pray for these teachers as they return to their classrooms, that they would be inspired to help their students make good choices for themselves and their communities.
  • In addition to the training courses, Lifewords has produced a DVD to act as a refresher for all those involved in the implementation of the Choose Life programme. Please pray that this resource will prove useful, acting as a confidence booster for teachers, and enabling Lifewords staff to support the schools and centres who partner with us more effectively.
  • Lifewords is currently conducting a short survey into the practice of witchcraft in Africa. The hope is that we will be able to produce new material to address the issue, and to explore how Pavement Project can respond to the impact witchcraft and – particularly – false  accusations of witchcraft have on Africa’s children. Please pray for God’s wisdom and guidance for all involved in this research. And please pray for all the Pavement Project facilitators currently involved in ministering to children-at-risk on the streets of Kenya and Uganda.
