Jesus’ birth challenges our perception of the relationship between God and the world. The two tend to be perceived as separate spheres, God creating the world and intervened only occasionally, in blessing or judgment. In the Old Testament, God’s revelation is terrifying. Jesus is a new revelation of God, God dressed in a way that the world is able to see him and accept him – a God we can see, hear, and walk alongside.
Thank God for Immanuel, God with us.
As we see the downward spiral of the world today, with violence, sexual exploitation, abortion disrespect of each other, we realise that without God in our lives the working out of sin in our lives is all too evident.
Thank God for His love for us, that He made a way for us to be drawn in line with His ways again, through the gift of His Son, Jesus. There is no other Name under heaven or earth by which men may be saved, and we’re all proving it.

I am not so sure about the difference between the God of the OT and the God of the NT, as revealed by the Lord Jesus. I would have thought that Jesus tells us more about the nature of God than we are told in the OT, but that the seeds of his revelation (eg of God’s love) are already there.
I would agree that a God who ordered genocide seems inconsistent with the Person of the Lord Jesus, but perhaps Joshua’s understanding of God’s commands and nature was faulty, rather than that God altered his nature over the centuries.
I pray this Christmas Season that people with the means help those without! With shelter, food and clean drinking water, all over the world!
An earnest digest of the old testament God will move us to tears of gratitude at the goodness of God in his Son Jesus Christ. Who has made our peace with Our Father possible with his own blood. It is awesome. God did not look for any human head or make it cost us anything to be friends with him, He just gave loves us freely.
It is a terrible thing not to understand this and accept Jesus CHrist as our Lord and Saviour. THANK YOU FATHER, WE ARE REALLY GRATEFUL. Salvation is a such a peaceful and wonderful place to be!!!!
My earnest prayer is that his Grace will locate every member of my family to be born again.
Another year is around the corner and we are so much thankful to Jehovah for His protection and guidance through His son Jesus.God is really without us that is why we have lived to see this day. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus i pray that the peace of God abide with us all
How amazing that the Creator of the galaxies should humble himself to take on the body of a human, even more so a dependant babe, in order that we might see God in a form that we could understand & in a form that did not melt & annihilate us if we looked upon Him. Who can watch the Sun & not be blinded & yet our sun is one of billions all created & sustained by Jesus. Phillipians chapter 2 – taking on humanity- servant- sacrifice/ execution of a slave or rebel.
