The angel said, “Joseph, the baby that Mary will have is from the holy spirit. Go ahead and marry her. Then after her baby is born, name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Mary’s news must have been difficult for Joseph, and as a kind man he planned to avoid a public scandal and quietly dismiss his fiancée. But God had a role for him too, and brought him into the mystery of Mary’s conception, and the unique role of his surrogate son.
Thank God for the forgiveness that came through Jesus.
Thank you so much Lord Jesus that you have saved me from my sins, from the crushing guilt of them, from the separation they caused between you & I, from the sins I did yet didn’t want to do but lacked the power to resist. Thank that your forgiveness that is still available for the times I mess up.
