Christmas Cards

For Christmas 2011, SGM Lifewords has produced two Christmas cards.

In two different designs, the cards feature a snippet of the Christmas story inside, inspiring recipients to read more of the story in the Bible. On the reverse, they will also find a invitation to order a free 2012 calendar reflecting on the story of the Bible. It’s a great way of inspiring friends and family to take a fresh look at the Bible, as well as conveying seasonal greetings.

Cards are available in packs of ten, five each of two different designs: Light, and Promises. Light includes the story of the shepherds, and Promises is about Mary’s visit from the angel Gabriel.

Inside the Light card are the following verses:

The true light that shines on everyone was coming into the world.
(John 1:9)

There were some shepherds in that part of the country who were spending the night in the fields, taking care of their flocks. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone over them. They were terribly afraid, but the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid! I am here with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people. This very day in David’s town your Saviour was born – Christ the Lord!” (Luke 2:8-11)

Inside the Promises card are these verses:

City of Zion, sing and celebrate! The LORD has promised to come and live with you.
(Zechariah 2:10)

God sent the angel Gabriel to the town of Nazareth in Galilee with a message for a virgin named Mary:

“Don’t be afraid! God is pleased with you, and you will have a son. His name will be Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of God Most High. The Lord God will make him king, as his ancestor David was. He will rule the people of Israel for ever, and his kingdom will never end.”
(Luke 1:26-27, 30-33)
